at last we have some new scanners to supplement the two fixed scanners
there are 5 (currently only 3) canon lide 100 scanners in room 106 available for use
WE MUST LOOK AFTER THEM
please treat them with respect – they are nice machines and designd to be portable do not require a power supply (USB powered)
as a reference for if they are any good see this scan (29mb) at max optical resolution of 2400dpi – if they get abused they will not continue to achieve this quality
here is a section as a screengrab from photoshop displayed with no sharpening or post scan treatment at 1:1 – 72dpi – 100% in photoshop
they require a driver and will be available from within the apple image capture application and through photoshop – give me a chance to get all the drivers installed
if you are working on laptops you will need a driver – you can go to the canon site or alternatively (not sure if I should do this really but I think it will make things easier) I have placed the scangear driver you need on the mac loose in the software tutorials folder – look for ScanGear_CanoScan LiDE 100_140300.pkg.zip
