brief for ass 2 digital culture

the brief for assignment 2 of digital culture module is a piece of motion typography based upon the content of your essay

take the short extract from your essay (you must agree this with mark and/or gerda) and record it as a spoken piece

this can be done directly into the computer via quicktime or using a phone or a camera – it MUST be of good enough quality to hear what is being said but does not need to be studio conditions and quality – some background noise is fine

when played back it should ideally be somewhere between 10 seconds and 30 seconds

you then need to take the text and animate it (as text) to the sound file – it should be done in c4d ( I will consider After Effects if you see me first)

use all the exercises and lessons in kerning and type that we have done and show that you have a good understanding of what makes good typography

deadline is end of the semester (24th may) and should be delivered on dvd as a rendered QT file and the source .c4d file – don’t try to do this in a single file – do it in pieces and assemble in final cut or premiere or AE
